Anarchist Soccer →
If I lived in Greece, I might be into football.  The following is a description of the anarchist fans of AEK Athens from an excellent article on the anarchist uprisings in Greece, “Ed Vulliamy and Helena Smith join frontline activists in Athens” (The Guardian). ””“Another cloud of thick smoke clears, this time caused by the fans’ flares and smoke bombs at the...

NYU Occupation Forcibly Ended by Security
The occupation of an NYU building by students was ended violently a couple days ago by security forces on the orders of the administration who cowardly refused to engage with the students.  See below for links to info about the occupation.   In international solidarity with the New School occupation a month ago, and the directly democratic actions in Greece, France, Italy, and India, students in...

These two met in 1929 to discuss filming Marx’s “Kapital” which had been written 60 years beforehand. Now, eighty years...

'U' grad students protest student fees (local news... →
The Emaciated Gophers, including myself, organized a protest today against exorbitantly high student fees that put us far below a living wage.  I’m in this video for a second when we’re crossing the bridge.  We had some great chants, such as “1, 2, 3, 4. What are we paying fees for? 5, 6, 7, 8.  Bruininks, why you gotta hate?” (Bruininks is our U president - he makes...
