I was reminded of this photograph by reading Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, the part where a man and a girl are sitting in a backyard with dappled shadows, resting in the sun, watching for the man’s lost cat, getting to know each other and talking about human bodies.
