The Pigeon, Bert’s amazing dance imitating the great natural creature, the pigeon, is one of my top favorite dances. Eli hates it and leaves the room if I do it. Sucker married me anyway! THE PIGEON!
The pigeon is already unsettling with its cooing and dead-eyes, but the synchronized back-and-forth motion of its head and feet is a reduction of the passion of human dance to robotics — pigeons are the robotic rats of the sky. But I guess it’s pretty cute when Jecca does the pigeon dance.
