A local office of Parti Socialiste across the street from our apartment on Rue de Gergovie in the 14th Arrondisement.  It feels pretty cool to live in a city with a mayor, Bertrand Delanoë, who belongs to the socialist party.  They also hold 186 (out of 577) seats in the National Assembly.  For the sake of our reception here as Americans, I hope that no Parisians will watch Fox News’s coverage of Americans confusing socialists with nationalists.  The latter also exist here, unfortunately, organized in the extreme-right Front national (the third largest political party, though vastly smaller than the socialists - no seats in the National Assembly).
