In Defence, my brother-in-law, Ben Crew’s, hardcore band, covering the classic Negative Approach song, “ready to fight,” at their concert in Paris on 9/28/09 (in a small restaurant, ironically, a pizzaria, at 27 Rue Anelaide Lahaye Bagnolier). The crowd was into it, as you can see by their intense moshing and singing-along. In the intro to this song, Ben does a little ‘fight club’ with a professional boxer from Germany, who is a also a film-maker. At the end of this concert, many of the punks (many of the ‘street’ type with colorful mohawks) sat down, reverentially, to watch one of his rad film about the German punk scene, its politics and history.
