We went to Madras (Chennai) last week for a day, mainly so Jecca could visit with Professor M.S.S. Pandian (author of the excellent book, Brahmin and Non-Brahmin, and a cool guy who works in both history and polisci). We then went to a giant western-style mall, the Spencer Plaza. Pandian suggested it, but then said that it probably wasn’t ‘p.c.’ of him to recommend a mall.
