Israeli settlement right next to our town.
These settlements are all Jewish only, and if we were to be caught inside one, we would be shot on sight. These settlements are built illegally on Palestinian owned land, and are given a great deal of exclusive rights by the Israeli government, such as:
- $80,000 simply for moving into a free home/apartment provided by Israel
- Each male member of the family is given an M16 for “Self-defense”
- They are provided with free transportation
- Should they need to travel to another settlement, all Palestinian roads within 2 miles of the exclusive Jewish highways are closed down until the settlers are done driving.
- Children raised in settlements are granted free tuition to any collage within Israel of their choice.
- The protection of the IDF
They are also granted higher priority use of water, fuel, and electricity, last night being the prime example. Whenever the energy/water draw in a settlement is too great, they cut the two resources to Palestinian towns and route them into the settlements to make up for the loads. Settler raids on nearby Palestinian towns is common, where despite any murders committed by them, there is rarely any sort of repercussion.
The settlements grow and grow, and eventually occupy even more Palestinian territory and fertile farmland, in which case any nearby Arabs home are demolished to make room for any incoming settlers.
